SES ILLETES

Ses Illetes es el sueño mediterráneo hecho realidad. Una franja de arena blanca y fina que se adentra en el mar, con aguas tan transparentes que cuesta distinguir dónde empieza la orilla y dónde termina el cielo. Es, sin duda, la playa más famosa de Formentera, y cuando la ves, entiendes por qué: sus colores parecen irreales y su belleza es pura.

Ses Illetes is the Mediterranean dream come true. A stretch of soft white sand reaching out into the sea, with water so clear it’s hard to tell where the shore ends and the sky begins. It’s without a doubt Formentera’s most iconic beach—and once you see it, you’ll understand why: the colors are surreal, and the beauty is almost untouched.

PLATJA DE MIGJORN

La más larga de la isla, y también la más salvaje. Migjorn se extiende por toda la costa sur y está llena de pequeñas calas y rincones donde puedes estar casi solo, incluso en temporada alta. Tiene un rollo muy libre, muy natural, y además hay varios chiringuitos escondidos entre las dunas donde comer bien o tomarte algo con vistas.

The longest beach on the island—and also the wildest. Migjorn stretches along the entire southern coast and is full of tiny coves and hidden spots where you can feel alone, even in high season. It has a very free, natural vibe, with scattered beach bars tucked into the dunes where you can eat or sip a drink with amazing views.

CALA SAONA

Una pequeña bahía rodeada de acantilados rojizos y casetas de pescadores. Es recogida, íntima, y tiene un encanto muy especial, sobre todo al atardecer, cuando el cielo se vuelve dorado y el mar refleja tonos naranjas y rosados.

A small bay surrounded by reddish cliffs and fishermen’s huts. Cozy, peaceful, and truly charming—especially at sunset, when the sky turns gold and the sea reflects all those warm pink and orange tones.

THINGS TO DO OTHER THAN THE BEACH

Alquilar una bicicleta o moto

Es la mejor forma de moverse por la isla. Las distancias son cortas y el paisaje es precioso. Te recomendamos Formotor por su trato amable y su flota de coches, motos y bicis.

Subir al Faro de La Mola

Un lugar mágico al borde del acantilado. Julio Verne lo mencionó en uno de sus libros. La sensación de estar en el fin del mundo es real.

Camina hasta el faro, siéntate en la roca y mira cómo el sol se esconde en el horizonte.

Hacer paddle surf o kayak

Formentera vista desde el agua es aún más bella. Puedes alquilar tablas en Es Pujols, Cala Saona o incluso apuntarte a una excursión guiada.

Visitar los mercadillos de la isla

Te perderás en el ambiente hippie, tanto en La Mola como en Es Pujols. En Sant Francesc también hay mercadillo por las mañanas para encontrar esa pulsera o elementos decorativos para llevarte de recuerdo. Rent a bike or scooter

Visit La Mola Lighthouse

A magical spot perched on the edge of a cliff. Jules Verne even mentioned it in one of his books. Standing there truly feels like being at the edge of the world.

Walk to the lighthouse, sit on the rocks, and watch the sun melt into the horizon. It’s one of those moments you won’t forget.

Try paddle boarding or kayaking

Formentera seen from the water is even more beautiful. You can rent boards in Es Pujols, Cala Saona, or join a guided excursion if you want a bit of adventure.

Visit the island’s markets

LOS PUEBLOS

THE VILLAGES WE LOVE

Formentera no tiene grandes ciudades, lo que encontrarás son pequeños pueblos con mucha personalidad. casas blancas, calles tranquilas y una atmósfera relajada que te invitarán a bajar revoluciones. Aquí cada lugar tiene su ritmo, su historia y su estilo y visitarlos te ayudará a entender el alma de la isla.

Formentera doesn’t have big cities or towering buildings. What you’ll find instead are small villages, quiet streets, whitewashed houses, and a relaxed atmosphere that invites you to slow down. Each village has its own rhythm and charm, and visiting them helps you understand the soul of the island.

ES CALÓ DE SANT AGUSTÍ

Antiguo puerto de pescadores, conserva todavía hoy sus tradicionales casetas de madera donde se guardan las barcas, y un ambiente tranquilo que invita a detenerse. Pasear por Es Caló es volver a la Formentera más auténtica, la de siempre, la que se vive sin prisas.

Once a traditional fishing port, it still preserves its old wooden boat huts and a peaceful vibe that makes you want to slow down and stay a while. A stroll through Es Caló is like stepping back into the most authentic, timeless version of Formentera—the one that moves at its own slow, beautiful pace.

SANT FRANCESC XAVIER

El corazón de la isla. Pasear por sus calles blancas, tomar un café bajo los porches, curiosear en las tiendecitas locales o visitar la iglesia-fortaleza del siglo XVIII es casi obligatorio. Es un pueblo bonito, tranquilo y perfecto para empezar a conectar con el espíritu de Formentera.

The island’s capital—but don’t expect chaos. It’s a calm, lovely village with cobbled streets, artisan shops, little cafés, and an iconic white church in the main square. It’s the best place for a morning stroll, shopping for local crafts, or sitting on a terrace with a coffee and just watching life go by.

EL PILAR DE LA MOLA

En lo alto del acantilado, este pueblo parece otro mundo. Es más tranquilo y rural, y los miércoles y domingos se llena de vida con su mercadillo hippie. Además, desde aquí puedes visitar el Far de la Mola, uno de los rincones más impresionantes de la isla.

On the highest part of the island, surrounded by countryside and cliffs, you’ll find this peaceful village. It’s home to the famous hippie market (Wednesdays and Sundays), where local artists and craftspeople showcase their work in a laid-back, creative environment. The views from the nearby lighthouse, Far de la Mola, are unforgettable.

SANT FERRAN DE SES ROQUES

Más bohemio y alternativo, es un pueblo ideal para visitar de noche, que adquiere el mayor de los encantos. Aquí nació la leyenda de la mítica Fonda Pepe, punto de encuentro de hippies y artistas en los años 70. Hoy sigue teniendo ese aire desenfadado y creativo. Por la noche, su mercadillo artesanal le da un toque muy especial.

The bohemian heart of the island. The village becomes alive and charming at night. It has a more laid-back, artistic vibe, and at night its small square comes alive with music and street art. Don’t miss the local artisan market -especially in the summer-, where you’ll find handmade jewelry, ceramics, and original pieces made by local creators.
